blue mamba - performance saša lušić, mladen stropnik
original title: >>blu mamba<< / Blue Mamba, length: 45 min, year: 2005
contributors and sponsors: planko gorazd - GOX

saša lušić is a performer and musical performer. he wrote the music for velenje-based musician 6PAC čukur, the
hit song “Unikat” sung by pop musician alya, and a number of non-commercial yet high-quality compositions. as
for the idea of “buznkraft”, where we were looking for a larger audience, saša and I used the blue mamba
performance to directly address the general audience and decided to perform in a shopping mall environment.
the time would be Saturday morning when the place is busy with several thousand shoppers and potential
viewers of our performance.
as we arrive at the location we are wearing colorful costumes and carrying equipment for creating sound effects.
the idea of the performance is to produce a series of artificial motions and sounds. a description of the
performance, the sound and our interaction with the sound: i put on a costume and listen to a certain type
of music for half an hour, dancing to it. the music supports my dancing. the dancing can start to change
depending on the environment. interaction with passers-by is permitted, and even desired. if no one joins
the dance, i continue listening to the music from my headphones and dancing. sašo plays the guitar
enhanced with the special effect which best fits the visual appearance created by our costumes, and
produces a sound based on my movements. he is not attempting to interpret my movements, he is
searching for a sound to support the event, enhance it and even enhance the manifestation of this concept.
if the passers-by start to dance, or even dance with me, the music changes depending on the dancing
viewers.
an example: a queue of people dancing in a group or a chain. the Blue Mamba performance took
place in the parking lot of the BTC mall in ljubljana.
